We need your help!

Domestic violence and abuse is a huge problem for many LGBTQ+ people, particularly within some parts of our community. A staggering 80% of trans people will be affected by domestic violence at some point in their lives.

That's why LGBT HERO has been commissioned to create a series of resources for LGBTQ+ people experiencing domestic violence and abuse. Our new hub of resources will provide vital advice and information for queer people who are being abused, are at risk of abuse, or are concerned about someone they know. We will then promote this valuable hub via an online campaign.

As with all LGBT HERO's interventions, this project will be community led. What does that mean? It means that YOU will decide what resources we create, who they will cater to, how we present the information, and how best to reach those in need. No one knows the queer community better than LGBTQ+ people themselves, which is why we want you to lead the way.

The first element of the project will involve an online focus group, for which participants will receive £20 in Amazon vouchers. This will be a 1.5 hour session in which all focus group members will be able to help shape the ongoing work. There will also be opportunities, for those interested, to participate further in the hub's development.

If you think this sounds like you, then send an email to [email protected] with "domestic violence focus group" as the subject. You don't need to have experienced domestic violence or abuse in order to contribute.

Once the focus group slots have been filled a date will be arranged when all can take part.
